About Mediref

Mediref began as an idea in 2013 from a dentist and a pharmacist who were frustrated with secure messaging tools built only for the medical sector. They would only support text making it unsuitable for dentistry where images are critical.

Even if you accepted those constraints, you couldn’t send anything to a health practitioner who wasn’t using the exact same provider you’d signed up with.

So we set out to solve that problem, and Mediref was born.We launched in 2014. Now, 13 years later in 2026, Mediref is used throughout Australia across Allied Health, Dentistry, and the Medical sector - where even though there are plenty of alternatives, Mediref offers some unique features designed to make your clinical communication easier and more effective.
