Gets you into a practice that already has a Mediref account without creating a second one. There are three ways in, and the practice always stays in control of who joins.
Being invited
Someone who manages the practice invites you from Settings > Members. You get an email with an Accept invitation link, enter the code Mediref sends to your inbox, and you’re in with whatever access they chose.
Using the practice’s contact email
If you sign up with an email address the practice has confirmed as its contact email (the address other practices send to), Mediref recognises it and asks Is this you?. Click Yes, that’s my practice and you’re connected at once. Everyone who manages the practice is told, with a link to remove you if that was wrong.
Asking to join
- Sign up as usual and, on Find your practice, search for the practice and pick it. If your practice phone number already belongs to a practice on Mediref, Mediref offers this too.
- Read who will be asked, then confirm. Mediref emails the people who manage the practice.
- Wait. The waiting page tells you which address the request went to. Wrong practice? Withdraw takes it back; Set up a separate practice instead starts your own account while the request stays open.
- When someone approves, you get an email and can sign in with your address. If they decline, or nobody answers within 14 days, you’re told and can set up your own practice or ask to be invited.
Letting someone in
Requests appear under Requests to join at the top of Settings > Members, and Mediref emails you when one arrives (with a reminder after a week). Approve opens the usual permissions editor, already set to correspondence and settings at the practice they asked for; adjust it if you need to. Decline removes the request and tells the person.
