Gets a file onto your computer when clicking View or Download does nothing. The file list is the same in Inbox, Archive, Sent and on the secure link pages, so these steps work wherever you’re saving from.
Steps
- Read the row. A file reading Deleted or Automatically deleted with a date has no buttons left — it’s gone, and only the record of it remains, so ask the sender to send it again.
- If you clicked Download all, try one file with its own Download button. Download all zips everything together, and that’s the part most likely to fail on a big correspondence.
- Check your browser hasn’t stopped it — look for a bar or a downward arrow at the top or bottom of the window asking whether to allow the download.
- For images and PDFs, click View and save from there. Otherwise try an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, or the Mediref desktop app.

A deleted file, or one that failed its virus check, doesn’t stop the others: save the ones that work and ask the sender for the missing one. Correspondence delivered to your Mediref account doesn’t run out — expiry and revoked access only apply to secure links sent to people who don’t have Mediref.
If the file downloads but you can’t find it, check Download location and Enable automatic downloads in Settings → Desktop App. Those apply to that computer only, not to your Mediref account, so another machine can be saving files somewhere else entirely. See Desktop app settings.
